So B’s family have been visiting the entire last week. It has been very cool, not only to see them but also because we’ve been doing a lot of fun things. Me, B’s brothers and Søren went to the Getty Center one of the days. It’s a fantastic art museum located high up on a hill in Brentwood. A spectacular building which has cost over $1.2 billion to build. While we did that the girls went on a shopping spree on Melrose Ave. Also we’ve been to the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim we’ve been out to a lot of great dinners and we went with them to Santa Barbara for a couple of nights. In Santa Barbara we went on a whaling trip to see some Grey whales and Humpback whales. It was very beautiful and to top it all off the drummer from Muse was on the boat too so both of B’s brothers got an autograph from him which was very cool.
We were sad to see them head on to San Francisco to finish off their trip but at least it won’t be long until we see them again.
So we’ve just gotten back from Las Vegas. It was an intense trip and we had massive amounts of fun. We left for Las Vegas on friday afternoon and got there in the early evening. It was me, B and her friend Babs and we met up with a guy I knew from back home that was attending a SAP conference. I gotta say that it’s the craziest town I’ve ever been to. Soo amazing and so many ways to rid yourself of any form of valuables. When we got there we met up with Nikolas, Peter and some other danish guys that was there for the conference. We had some drinks at he Venetian which like the rest of the hotels on the strip is unbelievable. Thanks to Babs and her amazing people skills we ended up at the Tangerine without standing in line or paying the cover charge. After they closed Babs went on yet another display of incredible social skills and hooked us up with a club promoter that took us to another club called the Dresden. Of course the promoter had a sneaky plan of getting Babs home with him and therefore wouldn’t let her go even though we said we were tired and wanted to go home. It all got a little scary so at the right moment we ended up running out of the club right past the promoters two bodyguards and into the street were we hailed the first cab we could get a hold of. A crazy night, I’m telling ya.
The next day me and Nikolas cruised the town and took it slow. It was very nice. At night me, B, Babs and Peter went to Light at the Bellagio Hotel where we again didn’t have to pay cover or stand in line. It was a lot of fun and they had an amazing foam/snow weather inside the club and stripper poles for the girls to dance from.
Sunday we just took it easy and went back home to LA. An amazing trip!!!
I finished Los Angeles Marathon yesterday in the time of 03:48:26. It was definitely not what I had hoped for but alright taking into account I was dehydrated and ran with a slight fever in a pounding 28 degrees (that’s 82 to you Americans) of heat with no hope for clouds or rain. Of course I didn’t bother looking at the weather forecast the night before so the dumba** here didn’t put sunblock on which gave me a mean as hell sunburn. So all in all it was pretty much 4 hours in pure and utter hell. But I completed an made a new PR by around 6 minutes so I guess I shouldn’t be complaining. I finished overall as number 1041 out of a total of 24736.
So B & I started doing Bikram Yoga a couple of weeks ago at Bikram Yoga OC and even though I was skeptical at first it has really turned me. All in all it’s a special kind of yoga where you do 26 poses and some breathing exercises in a 40-45 degree hot room (that’s about 105 to you Americans) for about 90 minutes.
It gives a tremendous form of well being after class and is helping me be much more flexible in my running.
If there’s a studio near you, you should give it a try.
Since it was B’s birthday on tuesday we went out last night with a bunch of people. We went to Union Cattle Company which is a really cool bar in old town. As the name states it’s a real Western bar complete with mechanical bull and everything in the back of the bar. Luckily there was a bull riding contest going on so there were tons of people and we pretty much laughed our a** off all night. Also an hour of so before they close they have a booty dancing contest on the top of the bar were everyone is cheering and girls go all out dancing, trying to win $100, hysterical!
Also I forgot to say that if you ever get a chance to go out in San Francisco go to the Owl Tree, it’s a really fun bar too, much more low key though.
As you can see a lot of stuff on this site is borked at the moment. I upgraded to php5 to take advantage of all the new OO stuff in there and by doing so a lot of the existing code on this site no longer functions properly. But fear not since what’s coming is going to be well worth the wait. Anywho I’ll fix stuff as fast as I can so bear with me.
I’m testing the new version of my Kaccordion plugin and some pages might therefore not work as expected until I finalize everything. Sorry for the inconvenience.
That’s right boys and girls the shots section has been updated with a whopping 89 new images so hurry up and go check it out as it pretty much describes what B and I have done the last month or two.
So we were up at Mammoth Mountain last week snowboarding for 6 days. The 6 hour drive up there was spectacular as well and we drove through some Indian reservations which was cool to see. We also had some authentic Indian Beef Jerky which was very yummy, or not! It was great up there and we had a blast even though it wasn’t too cold. There were almost no people so we pretty much had the slopes to ourselves all day long. We also saw a bunch of interesting things on the way back like a huge 10 m high block of ice (that’s about 30 feet to you Americans) which can be seen in the shots section. Also we saw an old Japanese imprisonment camp from WWII which was pretty spooky.
