So B & I had our 5 year anniversary yesterday. I had the whole day planned out for her as a surprise. We woke up and I made her breakfast in bed. Then we went to the Getty Center which is beautiful. After we spent a few hours there I took her to the Ivy on Roberston Blvd. It’s actually voted among the top 10 best restaurants in Los Angeles and I gotta say that we were both very impressed. The food was excellent, probably the best we’ve had all year. Then we jotted down 3rd street and cruised around the Beverly Center were I got a couple of polo shirts. Last but not least we hit Melrose Avenue and then we went home. B was very happy about the entire thing which is good since that’s what matters to me. Pictures will be up in the gallery over the weekend.
A fun day in the city, you should try it.

The day has finally arrived. I’ve completed the new photo gallery for this site. It’s entirely made in xHTML, CSS and JavaScript, no Flash or the likes are used so it doesn’t require the user to download anything.

Features:
- Dynamic generation of menu.
- Displays when each gallery section was updated last.
- Dynamic generation of thumbnails.
- Reflections on images.
- Cool loader.
- Cool animations.
- Turn reflections on or off.
- Cross browser compliant.
- Extensive use of jQuery.
Still on my TODO list:
- Make an option to have a timed slideshow.
- Fix the flicker that occurs in Firefox 2.0+
- If you can think of anything else shoot me an email and maybe I’ll get it in there at some point.
The whole thing weighs about 15kb and by compressing it with Dojo Shrinksafe I got it down to about 9kb so don’t be a wiener and complain about the size.
Bear in mind that this code is very new and some glitches may occur. If they do please shoot me an email explaining the problem and how it happened and of course the browser (including version) you used.
Jump to see it.

Woot! I just passed the Ridercourse today and have gotten my motorcycle license. Now to ponder about which bike to get when i get home to Denmark. Right now I have three different ones in mind.
1. D.K.W. like my granddad used to have when he was young, it’s very very cool.

2. Or of course a Suzuki GSX R 600 which is a super nice bike but I might not be able to pay for the insurance.

3. The ultimate, a Ducati 1098 but I might not be able to pay for the bike OR the insurance.

So B’s family have been visiting the entire last week. It has been very cool, not only to see them but also because we’ve been doing a lot of fun things. Me, B’s brothers and Søren went to the Getty Center one of the days. It’s a fantastic art museum located high up on a hill in Brentwood. A spectacular building which has cost over $1.2 billion to build. While we did that the girls went on a shopping spree on Melrose Ave. Also we’ve been to the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim we’ve been out to a lot of great dinners and we went with them to Santa Barbara for a couple of nights. In Santa Barbara we went on a whaling trip to see some Grey whales and Humpback whales. It was very beautiful and to top it all off the drummer from Muse was on the boat too so both of B’s brothers got an autograph from him which was very cool.
We were sad to see them head on to San Francisco to finish off their trip but at least it won’t be long until we see them again.
